The textiles of Bangladesh has been high regarded both here and aboard since antiquity, with the delta, of the  then Bengal, being renowned for its cotton and very fine weaving.

Since the 16th Century and with the arrival of the Moguls, the most appreciated textiles of Bangladesh was the muslins. Muslin refers to a very fine woven cotton that was produced here in this fertile delta.– it was so finely woven here in Bangladesh, it was said that it could pass through a signet ring. With the influence of Persian designs and Hindu weavers Jamdani was born, this is fine woven muslin with geometric floral motifs.
